Numerical Bases Explained
Humans naturally count using **Base 10 (Decimal)** because we have 10 fingers. Computers operate physically via electrical switches which can only be on or off, rendering them native to **Base 2 (Binary)**.
However, displaying large numbers in Base 2 requires an excessive amount of characters (e.g. `11111111`). Because of this, computer engineers frequently group bits into blocks of 4, creating **Base 16 (Hexadecimal)** which safely shortens addresses and color codes into readable strings like `FF` instead of `11111111`.
